Copyright violation?

Bullshit

Okay, so apperantly my old drawings Rei Ayanami, Rei Ayanami - inked and Rei Ayanami 2 have been deleted due to copyright violation. I have absolutely no idea why this is. I'm pretty upset since those are pretty much my favorite drawings out of all my drawings.

I traced Rei Ayanami 2 in the bigger areas, from one of Yoshiyuki Sadomotos original pictures - then filled in all the shading by hand. Even the entire background was filled in by hand. I even referred to Sadomoto in the artist comments..
Rei Ayanami 1 wasnt traced at all, I drew it all by hand by looking at a picture.

I'm just.. So angry and frustrated.

Just wanna kick something.

It's funny how direct "vectors" of anime screen shots are allowed, but when effort is involved everything gets deleted! D:

I was worried that might happen. However you can make a case out of this. Just recently the staff has made a big point of coming out and saying that tracing (also reference in your case too) is allowed on deviant art. State your case, if they refuse they would be going against their own agreed to rules
