Look at famous pictures already on this page for reference, the closer your pic looks to them, the more chance of getting alot of favs and getting on the front page you have.
And you most certanly have to include cute colors, those colors that almost makes your eyes scream for more desaturated colors.

Also, for crying out loud.. Don't try different styles than anime! That doesnt work, styles like this: [link] You know? It just doesnt work that way.



A good trick for getting more favs is to post things with faces on them, it doesnt have to be a painting, just take a photo of some cute object and photoshop a face on it. With a face I mean 2 black dots and a tiny mouth.
The objects can be some kind of food, like a cake.
If you want to hit the jackpot though, you have to paint the object in question. And it has to be something cute like bubbles, eggs or riceballs!

If you're trying out new things, styles and expect to get alot of favs instantly.. Then you're out of luck, unless you're real famous (they will get favs even if they post a photo of their toothbrush).
Things like this [link] are out of the question, even if you like it yourself.

But if you do have to change styles, expect alot of poeple to go "whu.. what's happening? Where's the cute girls? Who am I?". At least in the beginning. It will take about 6 months after you changed your style to get back to your average fav-count.



To get more favs than you usually get, submit your pictures in groups which you're sure fan-girls will love it. If your picture is "moe" just put the picture in ALL moe-groups you can find, the more the better, we all know this.
So, by submitting your picture in groups, you can go from 9 favs to up to 400 in no time. It's up to you to find all the groups!
And when poeple stumble upon your picture and sees that "oh my god this picture must be super awesome because it is in sooo many groups! FAV'D LOLZ". [link] <-- I mean how badass isnt it with so many groups?



You have to stay updated on what is in and hot at the moment. Pokémons are really hot at the moment, and I mean.. Pokémons is everything you'll ever need for success - they are cute, they are anime-ish, they are japanese, and they most certanly go home with the youngsters.

Another thing to keep in mind is to make fanart of the latest Disney movies, such as Toy Story 3 which is in cinemas right now. Oh how poeple love to see Buzz getting the hots for that.. urr.. yeah that female cowboy toy [link]
A previous craze that's kind of getting old is the Naruto and Bleach thing. Now we're in the 2010 baby.



Skills arent all that important if you want to get favs, really. This is just an art-community after all.
No, there's many ways to get around that.

One good thing is trace-vectoring! Go find an awesome official screenshot from your favorite anime.. Or.. on a second thought, just go get a screenshot from a famous anime.
Then trace the picture and alter it slightly like removing the background. And dont worry to put a link to the original picture in the description, poeple wont look down there anyway when they're mesmerized by the awesomeness of the traced vector! [link]

And taking a picture of a smiling food isnt so time-consuming and skill-required. So don't worry if you're not a real artist. Just keep these 6 steps in mind and you will be famous in no time.
